Body Love Conference 2014

All my life, I have had issues accepting my body for what it is. I'm full figured to say the least and I've always had body issues when it comes to my weight and body shape. I've tried to lose weight in many ways both healthy and unhealthy and nothing ever seems to work with me. I was just born big. Recently I decided, no more diets, no more worrying about weight loss, my only goal now is to be healthy. If I happen to lose weight in the process of being healthier, that's great! If not, oh well. I decided I needed to focus more on how I see myself rather than changing myself to fit impossible ideals of how a woman should look.

On average, women see over 200 negative body image advertisements every day.

I remember reading that and realizing, there is nothing wrong with me but there is everything wrong with media and how society views women. All bodies are good bodies, you don't have to be a size two with huge tits and a round ass to be pretty or desired, you just have to be you and love the skin you're in.

I'm working on my self esteem and my confidence, so expect a post now and then about it. I'm telling you now, if you don't want to look at my fat body either skip reading those posts in the future, or unfollow my blog. I wont post anything nude or overly suggestive, so no worries. (I have a daughter, you know.)

I was thrilled to find out that Jes from The Militant Baker is planning on hosting the first Body Love Conference in April of 2014 provided that she comes up with the money to do so by July 5th.

For my Arizona followers, I figured this would be a good chance for you and your daughters to attend something that teaches them self worth and confidence.

However, this wont happen without a little help! Check out Jes's blog for more information or if you would like, feel free to donate to the cause!

Along with that, I hope you all enjoy my journey towards Body Love!

  1. Hi Christina, found your blog through mommy blogs. Great blog love the idea of body love conference. I think self image now adays is a strong issue for most females thanks to media, magazines and what they perceive as beautiful. I dont really have an issue with my weight, but sometimes I go out and I am standing next to someone old or young who looks like they have spent hours and lotsa of money on themselves to create this hollywood star look that just isnt real. Its just so sad, because thats their focus in life and there is so much more to that. anyway thats my little take ;) I think this is a great blog good luck! :)
